Annie Winter is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice explores how past and present inform personhood and existence. Using video, sound, handmade sculpture, and installation, her work investigates temporality, memory, nostalgia, childhood, and femininity as powerful informants of identity. Winter explores the concept of feeling, physically through touch, and internally through emotion and experience, through juxtaposing new media against ancient craft methods. Her practice relies on her archive, which is continuously recontextualized and reimagined in the present. Winter’s work has been exhibited at Arts Commons in Kellner Performing Arts Center, Kestrels, 25 East Gallery, and All Street Gallery. Originally from Boston, Massachusetts, Winter now lives and works in New York City and is pursuing a BFA at Parsons School of Design in Fine Arts with a minor in Art and Design History.
