As we live inside of them — therefore having no escape from them — our physical bodies are the most integral piece to our identity. Both contemporary and historical societies are obsessive over the presentation and perception of our bodies. We are meant to look perfect. This standard to achieve idealized faces and bodies controls and consumes our culture. My progression series follows Kate Moss, one of the most famous supermodels of all time — someone who is traditionally beautiful — as she begins to warp into something abnormal and unsettling. This new version of her is less worthy of our collective attention. Beauty is merely a facade.
